Niels Henrik (Henrich) Weinwich (født 3. mai 1755 på Holmegård, Holum, Mandal, Vest-Agder, død 2. mai 1829 i København) var en dansk-norsk historisk forfatter, oversetter, litterat, etatsråd og bibliotekar ved Kongens Håndbibliotek.[3]

Biografi

Han var sønn av lagmann og justisråd Jacob Weinwich og Catharina Maria født Paludan. I 1773 ble han dimittert til universitetet fra Seminarium Fridericianum i Bergen. Hans interesser førte ham imidlertid bort fra studiet, og i 1776 utga han et historiske skrift om Stevns Herred. Det følgende år påbegynte han tidsskriftet «Ny kritisk Tilskuer» sammen med Bertel Christian Sandvig og Hans Jørgen Birch. Samme år ble han engasjert som redaksjonsmedarbeider på «Videnskabernes Selskabs danske Ordbog», og han leverte også bidrag til det i 1781 utkomne tome 7 av Erik Pontoppdians «Danske Atlas». 1786 ble han kopist ved det genealogisk-heraldiske Selskab.

Den 22. august 1788 giftet han seg med Anna Maria Møller (født 14. februar 1759, død 12. januar 1835), datter av sogneprest i Store Heddinge Thomas Møller.

I 1805 ble han ansatt som litterær medarbeider og bibliotekar ved kronprins Frederiks sivile departementskontor, og i 1808 ble han bibliotekar ved Kongens Håndbibliotek. I 1811 ble han justisråd og i 1826 etatsråd.

Hans viktigste arbeider Dansk-norske Kunsthistorie fra 1811 og Dansk, norsk og svensk Kunstnerlexicon fra 1829 er blitt overflødiggjort av andres senere arbeider.[4] Han ble gravlagt ved Sankt Petri Kirke (København).[5]
