Morten Stene på Commons

Morten Stene (født 1955) er en norsk politiker (Ap). Han var ordfører i Namsos kommune fra 2007 til 2015.

Han ble første gang valgt inn i Namsos kommunestyre i 1991. Han var varaordfører fra 1995 til 1999 og ordfører fra 2007 til 2015. At Stene så ikke ble renominert som Arbeiderpartiets ordførerkandidat, ble forstått som en følge av Rock City-saken.[1] Han har vært leder i både Namsos[2] og Overhalla arbeiderparti.[3]

Han begynte som tekniker i Televerket og ble etter hvert avdelingsleder for Opplysningen 180, senere Opplysningen 1881, i Namsos.[4][5] Han var daglig leder for et lokalt reiselivsforetak før han ble ordfører.[5][6]

Etter tiden som ordfører ble han prosjektleder i Namsos næringsforening.[7] Han har siden, etter 25 år i administrative stillinger, arbeidet med drift- og vedlikeholdsoppgaver.[8]
