Michael Wayne «Mike» Campbell (født 1. februar 1950 ) er en amerikansk gitarist, låtskriver og plateprodusent. Han er kjent for sitt arbeid med Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers hvor han var gitarist fra starten i 1976 frem til Tom Petty sin død i 2017.[ 4]
Før The Heartbreakers ble dannet spilte han i Mudcrutch sammen med Tom Petty og Benmont Tench .
Han har spilt på album til mange andre kjente artister som Stevie Nicks , Bob Dylan og på Johnny Cash Unchained American III , IV V .
Ved siden av the Heartbreakers spilte og sang han i bandet The Blue Stingrays som ga ut et album, Surf-N-Burn, i 1997. Sener, i 2000, dannet han the Dirty Knobs, etter Petty sin død har Campbell prioritert dette bandet mer og de ga ut sin første album, Wreckless Abandon , i 2020. Nok et album kom i 2020, External Combustion .[ 5] [ 6]
I 2011 rangerte magasinet Rolling Stone Mike Campbell til den 79. beste gitaristen gjennom tidene.[ 7]
