Leroy «Roy» F. Aarons (født 8. desember 1933 i Bronx i New York, død 28. november 2004 i Santa Rosa[3]) var en amerikansk journalist, redaktør, forfatter, skuespillforfatter, grunnlegger av National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) og en av grunnleggerne av Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education. I 2005 ble han innlemmet i NLGJA Hall of Fame.

Han skrev dokumentarboken Prayers for Bobby: A Mother's Coming to Terms with the Suicide of Her Gay Son i 1995, om Mary Griffith og hennes familie. Sønnen Robert («Bobby») tok sitt eget liv i 1983 fordi han ikke mestret å leve i konflikten mellom sin egen homofili og morens reaksjoner. Han leste først om historien i en avisartikkel i 1985, og forlot journalistikken for å finne ut mer om Bobbys historie. Aarons forsøkte å få frem boken i media, men fikk det aldri helt til før han døde. I 2009 hadde TV-filmen Prayers for Bobby premiere på TV-kanalen Lifetime, som sikret boken en viss arv.

Han skrev manuset til teaterstykket Top Secret: The Battle for the Pentagon Papers med Geoffrey Cowan, om «The Pentagon Papers». Aaron skrev også teaterstykkene Zeke the Profan og Home Movies. Han skrev libretten Sara's Diary, 9/11 om terrorangrepet 11. september 2001.
