Julian Skar (født 28. august 1981) er en norsk komponist og multimedia-artist.

Skar har studert komposisjon ved Norges musikkhøgskole under Asbjørn Schaathun, Rolf Wallin og Ivar Frounberg der er han har fullført diplomstudiet. Han har også studert komposisjon ved Universität der Künste i Berlin under Professor Daniel Ott og Wolfgang Heiniger med spesielt fokus på ny teknologi og musikkteater. Skar har også gjennomført studier i piano og komposisjon ved Griegakademiet i Bergen.[1]

Som komponist har Skar skrevet en rekke verk innenfor elektronisk musikk og musikkteater. Siden komponiststudiene har Skar insistert på å beholde et ben i popen og et i samtidsmusikken. Dette har resultert i stor spennvidde i hans kompositoriske virke, og utgivelser med artister som Nils Bech, og Susanna Wallumrød.[2]

Sammen med Jan Martin Smørdal opprettet Skar Ensemble neoN i 2008, og er i dag 50% kunstnerisk leder og huskomponist for ensemblet.[3]
