Ildergrevlinger (Melogale) tilhører underfamilien Helictidinae og er en slekt med fem arter i mårfamilien (Mustelidae). Alle artene finnes i Asia. Gruppa er enigmatisk, og slekta plasseres alene i underfamilien Helictidinae. Slektskapsforholdet til de andre underfamiliene i mårfamilien er fortsatt uavklart.

Fylogeni

Nyere genetisk forskning antyder at mårfamilien bør deles inn i åtte underfamilier.[1][2] Forholdet mellom gruppene er ikke avklart, men det synes å være enighet om at Taxidiinae var den første linjen som splittet fra hovedlinjen.[2] Likeledes synes det å være enighet om at Lutrinae og Mustelinae er søstergrupper.[2]
