Gods of Egypt er en amerikansk-australsk eventyrfilm fra 2016 regissert av Alex Proyas. De ledende rollene spilles av Brenton Thwaites, Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Chadwick Boseman, Courtney Eaton og Geoffrey Rush.

Filmen ble dårlig mottatt av de amerikanske anmelderne.[1] Den fikk også svært dårlig mottakelse av anmelderne i Norge. Blant annet så gav Dagbladet og P3s Filmpolitiet[2] den terningkast en, mens VG gav to.[3] Dagbladets anmelder beskrev den som «En kalkun av episke proporsjoner — men ikke dårlig nok til å bli bra».[4]

Handling

Set, den nådeløse guden av mørket, har tatt over tronen i Egypt, og det en gang så fredelige og velstående imperiet er nå i kaos og konflikt. Få våger å gjøre opprør mot ham. En ung mennesketyv, hvis kjærlighet ble tatt til fange av guden, søker å detronisere og beseire Set med hjelp av den mektige guden Horus.
