Goalball

Sveriges lag under Paralympics 2004.

Goalball er et ballspill for synshemmede. Det spilles på en 18 m og 9 m bred bane av to lag med tre personer. Hvert lag kan dessuten ha inntil tre innbyttere. Lagene triller en ball med innebyggede bjeller langs bakken. De på det andre laget må da prøve å stanse ballen med kroppen. Hvis ballen passerer linjen bak dem, er det mål. Hvis ballen treffer sidelinjen går den til en av personene på det andre laget. Det spilles med bind for øynene som alle må ha på seg for at det skal bli rettferdig.[1]

Goalball er en idrett i paralympiske leker, fra 1976 for menn og fra 1984 for kvinner.[2] Første VM ble arrangert i 1978.[2]
