Andreas Fredrik Grøn Scheel (født 25. februar 1886 i Kristiania, død 24. juni 1932 i Oslo), var en norsk historiker og statsarkivar.[1]

Han tok studenteksamen i 1904 og ble cand. philol. i 1909. Som historiker arbeidet han særlig med tre områder. Han skrev sin hovedoppgave om «Orknøerne og Hjaltland i pantsættelsestiden 1468–1667», (trykt i Norsk historisk Tidsskrift 1911), og arbeidet i tiden like før sin død med det færøyske Lagtingets historie. Han var interessert i rettshistorie, og tok doktorgraden i 1924 på en avhandling om «Lagmann og skriver», endringer ved overgangen fra middelalderen til den nyere tid. Fredrik Scheel stod sentralt i arbeidet med den norske sjøfartshistorien, og skrev «Fra Napoleonskrigen til navigationsaktens ophævelse».

Fredrik Scheel var lærer 1910–1912, og ble amanuensis ved Riksarkivet i 1915 og utnevnt til stiftsarkivar (statsarkivar) ved opprettelsen av Statsarkivet i Hamar i 1917. Han ble utnevnt til statsarkivar i Oslo i 1922. Hans dagbok fra tiden som statsarkivar i Hamar ble gitt ut ved arkivets 70-årsjubileum i 1987.

Fredrik Scheel utmerket seg som en svært arbeidsom, produktiv, allsidig og særdeles hjelpsom arkivmann. Han arbeidet med kildeutgivelser, og var utgiver av 3. rekke av Norske Herredags-Dombøger.

Familie

Fredrik Scheel var sønn av høyesterettsassessor Anton Vilhelm Rosing Scheel (1840-1910) og Dorothea Margrethe Grøn (1857–1934). Han giftet seg i 1924 med Alette Finne (1893–1987) av slekta Finne.
