FNs ekspedisjonskorpsmedalje er en militær medalje innstiftet av De forente nasjoner 30. november 1957 til belønning av deltagelse i FNs ekspedisjonskorps utsendt for å overvåke freden ved grensen mellom Egypt og Israel (UNEF I). Medaljen er godkjent til bruk på norsk militær uniform.[1]

Utforming

FNs ekspedisjonskorpsmedalje er utført i bronse og er 35 mm i diameter.[2] Adversen viser FNs emblem, et verdenskart sett fra Nordpolen omgitt av olivengrener. I åpningen mellom de to olivenkvistene i medaljens øvre del står innskriften «UNEF» i en bue. Reversen har innskriften «UNITED NATIONS EMERGENCY FORCE». Medaljen er opphengt i et lystgult bånd med lys blå midtstripe og to smale striper i blått og grønt ved hver kant. Fargene og mønsteret symboliserer FNs fredsbevarende rolle i ørkenen mellom de to land.

FNs ekspedisjonskorpsmedalje skiller seg fra FNs Koreamedalje og også fra FN-medaljen, som senere ble innstiftet som en generell medalje for alle FNs fredsbevarende operasjoner.

Tildeling

FNs ekspedisjonskorpsmedalje ble tildelt for nitti dagers tjeneste i UNEF I fra november 1956 til juni 1967. Medaljen er tildelt personell fra Brasil, Canada, Colombia, Danmark, Finland, India, Indonesia, Jugoslavia, Norge og Sverige.[3] I alt 58 031 medaljer ble utdelt.[4]
