Don’t Pass Me By

«Don't Pass Me By» er en sang som ble skrevet av Ringo Starr (kreditert Richard Starkey som er hans egentlige navn) som ble utgitt 22. november 1968 på dobbeltalbumet The Beatles (også kalt White Album) med The Beatles.

23. august 1963 annonserte Starr i et intervju med New Musical Express at han hadde laget en sang ved navn «Don't Pass Me By», men at hver gang han vil spille den for de andre i gruppen, begynner de bare å le av ham.[1]

Innspillingen skjedde først fem år senere, nærmere bestemt 5./6. juni/12./22. juli 1968 i Abbey Road Studios. Starr spilte trommer, bjeller, piano og sang vokal. Paul McCartney bidro også med piano samt bassgitar. John Lennon og George Harrison deltok ikke på «Don't Pass Me By». Det gjorde derimot en felespiller ved navn Jack Fallon. Første innspillingsdag het sangen «Ringo's Tune (Untitled)», «Ringo's Tune (Untitled)», deretter «This Is Some Friendly»[2]

The Georgia Satellites ga ut en coverversjon av «Don't Pass Me By» i 1988 på deres album Open All Night.
