Anacostia er en historisk bydel i Washington, D.C. i USA. Den utgjør det mest kjente nabolaget i Washingtons sørøst-kvadrant, og ligger øst for Anacostiaelven, som den har sitt navn fra. Siden 1990-årene er det blitt mer og mer vanlig i nyhetsmediene og på folkemunne å benytte navnet Anacostia om hele den delen av Washington som ligger øst for elven.[trenger referanse]

Området har over 90 prosent afroamerikansk befolkning,[trenger referanse] og har rykte på seg for å være kriminelt belastet.[1]
