Ahrensburg på Commons

Ahrensburg er en by i Schleswig-Holstein, Tyskland. Den tilhører Metropolregion Hamburg og ligger i Stormarn, omtrent 25 km nordøst for Hamburg. Befolkningen var på 31 276 innbyggere i 2010.

Viktige severdigheter er renessanseslottet fra 1595, og den tilhørende slottskirken med sine fattighus. Ruiner av Arnesveldeslottet fra ca. 1200 er fortsatt synlige i skogen sør for byen.

Den tidligmesolittiske Ahrensburgkulturen har navn etter de første boplassene fra denne. De ble funnet like utenfor byen av Alfred Rust tidlig på 1930-tallet.

Før 1867 het byen Woldenhorn. Ahrensburg fikk bystatus i 1949, og hadde da 17 775 innbyggere.

Vennskapsbyer er Esplugues de Llobregat (Spania), Feldkirchen in Kärnten (Østerrike), Ludwigslust (Tyskland) og Viljandi (Estland).
