Acetal
Acetal er et molekyl med to oksygenatomer bundet til samme karbonatom med enkeltbinding. Tradisjonelt skilles det mellom ketal og acetal (mens ketal har to karbon-bundne R grupper, har acetal en karbon-bundet R gruppe som H-). I henhold til dagens terminologi klassifiserer ketaler som undergruppe av acetaler.
Plast kjent som acetal er en polyacetal.
