St. Peter og St. Paul-øyene er ei gruppe av 15 små øyer og skjer i Nord-Atlanteren som høyrer til Brasil. Det totale arealet til øyene er om lag 17 mål, og største høgd over havet er 18 meter. Dei ligg i den intertropiske konvergenssona, eit område med kraftige vindar, 100 kilomter nord for ekvator og om lag 1000 kilometer nordaust for Natal. Dei ligg også nær Den midtatlantiske ryggen.

Dette er den einaste staden på jorda der den abyssale mantelen er eksponert over havoverflata.[2]

Øygruppa blei oppdaga i 1511 av ein portugisisk marineflåte som var på veg til India.

I 1986 blei øygruppa utpeikt til verneområde.[3] Sidan 1998 har den brasilianske marinen operert ein permanent bemanna forskingsstasjon på øyene.[1]

1. juni 2009 blei Air France Flight 447, ein Airbus A330-200 på veg frå Rio de Janeiro til Paris, rapportert savna og anteke å ha havarert utanfor kysten av Fernando de Noronha. Delar av flyet blei funne nær St. Peter og St. Paul-øyene.[4]
