Fiksjon

Fiksjon (frå latin ficti, fictin, som tyder 'innbilning, funne på') vert ofte nytta innanfor litteratur der det tyder den litteraturen som er oppdikta, altså skjønnlitteratur, i motsetning til fag- og dokumentarlitteratur.

Fiksjon kan tyde fylgjande:

  • Ei oppdikta forteljing eller eit litterært verk med eit oppdikta innhald og ikkje basert på fakta.
  • Ei løgn, oppdikta (jamfør «løgn og forbanna dikt»)
  • I jus; noko som er usant, men presentert som sant av forteljaren.

Fiktive personar

Skjønnlitteratur kan omhandle verkelege personar, medan ein oppdikta person då er ein fiktiv person. Nokre fiktive personar vert oppfatta som om dei er faktiske og reelle personar når enten detaljane i skildringane blir omfattande nok til at lesaren er i tvil. Slike personar er for eksempel:
