Zadeloppervlak

Een zadeloppervlak is een glad oppervlak in de directe omgeving van een zadelpunt. De hyperboloïde van een blad is een zadeloppervlak. Het woord zadeloppervlak is afgeleid van de eigenaardige vorm van het zadel voor paarden, dat zowel omhoog als omlaag kromt.
