Overgangsklasse hockey heren 2018/19

Het seizoen 2018/19 van de Overgangsklasse hockey bij de heren ging van start op 9 september 2018 en zal duren tot 26 mei 2019. Aansluitend vinden play offs plaats voor promotie en degradatie naar respectievelijk de Promotieklasse en de Eerste klasse.

Verandering

De KNHB voerde de Promotieklasse met ingang van het seizoen 2018/19 in tussen de Hoofd- en Overgangsklasse. Hiervoor was de Overgangsklasse het tweede competitieniveau van Nederland. Nieuw is dat de beide kampioenen van de Overgangsklasse geen duel meer spelen om het algehele kampioenschap en promotie, maar dat deze beide rechtstreeks promoveren naar de Promotieklasse. De beide nummers 2 van de Overgangsklasse spelen een play off tegen elkaar en de winnaar van deze play off serie speelt vervolgens om promotie tegen de nummer 10 van de Promotieklasse.
