Mesin molekul

Kinesin yang berjalan di atas mikrotubul ialah mesin biologi molekul yang menggunakan dinamik domain protein pada skala nano

Molekul mesin, nanit atau nanomesin[1] merupakan komponen molekul yang menghasilkan pergerakan seakan-mekanikal (output) dalam tindak balas kepada rangsangan tertentu (input).[2][3] Dalam biologi selular, mesin makromolekul kerap melakukan tugas yang penting untuk kehidupan, seperti replikasi DNA dan sintesis ATP. Ungkapan ini selalunya lebih umum digunakan untuk molekul yang hanya meniru fungsi yang berlaku pada tahap makroskopik. Istilah ini juga biasa dalam nanoteknologi di mana beberapa mesin molekul yang sangat kompleks telah dicadangkan yang bertujuan untuk membina pemasang molekul.[4][5]
