Beijing Menari

Logo Sukan Olimpik 2008

Dancing Beijing (Cina: 舞动的北京) merupakan nama bagi logo rasmi Sukan Olimpik 2008, yang diadakan di Beijing, Republik Rakyat China. Ia dirasmikan pada Ogos 2003 di satu majlis yang dihadiri seramai 2,008 orang di Qi Nian Dian—the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests di Beijing's Tian Tan (Kuil Syurga).

Logo ini menggabungkan pelbagai elemen daripada budaya China, digambarkan dalam sebuah cap mohor merah di atas perkataan "Beijing 2008" dan gegelang Olimpik. Cap mohor tersebut dibentuk oleh sebuah kaligrafi yang menggunakan karakter 京 (jing, ibu negara nasional) dalam bentuk menari. Lengkungan-lengkungan yang ada dibentuk seperti lengkukan tubuh naga. Lengan yang terbuka dalam bentuk kaligrafi tersebut melambangkan jemputan China kepada seluruh dunia untuk mempamerkan kebudayaannya. Merah, warna utama dalam logo, adalah warna yang penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat Republik Rakyat China, yang sering diklasifikasikan sebagai tuah atau nasib baik.

Komiti Olimpik Antarabangsa Presiden Jacques Rogge berucap di majlis perasmian logo ini dan berkata, "Your new emblem immediately conveys the awesome beauty and power of China which are embodied in your heritage and your people." Rogge menyambung, "In this emblem, I saw the promise and potential of a New Beijing and a Great Olympics. This is a milestone in the history of your Olympic quest. As this new emblem becomes known around the world and, as it takes its place at the centre of your Games, we are confident that it will achieve the stature of one of the best and most meaningful symbols in Olympic history."
