Active Server Pages

Active Server Pages (ASP) ialah sebuah enjin penskripan sebelah pelayan Microsoft untuk laman-laman web yang dijana secara dinamik. Ia dipasarkan sebagai perisian tambahan kepada Internet Information Services (IIS). Pengaturcaraan laman web ASP dimudahkan lagi dengan pelbagai objek-objek bina dalam. Setiap objek dipadankan kepada kumpulan fungsian yang biasa digunakan untuk membina laman-laman web.

Di dalam ASP 2.0, terdapat 6 objek-objek bina dalam: Application, ASPError, Request, Response, Server, and Session. Session, sebagai contohnya, ialah objek session berasaskan Cookie yang mengekalkan pmbolehubah-pembolehubah dari laman ke laman.

Kebanyakan halaman ASP ditulis menggunakan VBScript, tetapi sebarang enjin Active Scripting yang lain juga boleh digunakan dengan hanya meletakkan arahan @Language atau sintaks <script language="language" runat="server">. JScript ialah bahasa lain yang biasanya digunakan. PerlScript (yang ditiru dari Perl) dan sebagainya boleh didapati sebagai enjin Active Scripting third-party yang boleh dipasang.
