Vecpalsa ir Gaujas kreisā krasta pieteka Smiltenes novadā. Vecpalsa ir Palsas upes posms lejpus Palsas—Vizlas pārrakuma (Jaunpalsas). Pietekas: Rauza, Maiļupe, Liepu grāvis un Ceizelīte. Rauza par Vecpalsas pieteku uzskatāma tikai nomināli, jo gultnē no Jaunpalsas līdz Rauzas ietekai nav caurplūduma un lielāko daļu Vecpalsas noteces veido Rauzas un tās pietekas Šepkas ūdeņi.[1] Upe ietek Gaujā pie Staldu pilskalna.
Lielākā apdzīvotā vieta krastos ir Grundzāle. Upi šķērso autoceļš A2. Upes lejtece ietilpst Ziemeļgaujas aizsargājamo ainavu apvidū.
