Advanced Mobile Phone System

Advanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) ir analogā pirmās paaudzes mobilā telefona sistēma, kuru izstrādāja Bell Labs 1970. gados. No 1980. līdz 2000. gadiem tā bija primārā analogā mobilā telefona sistēma Ziemeļamerikā. Izmantota ASV, Kanādā, Izraēlā, Spānijā, Austrālijā, Jaunzēlandē, Šrilankā.

AMPS darbojas 850 MHz frekvenču joslā (no 824 līdz 894 MHz). Katrai sarunai tiek izmantota cita frekvence, lai izvairītos no blakus esošo telefonu interferences. AMPS ir līdzīgs 0G IMTS sistēmai, bet ir attīstītāks ar frekvenču izvēli, zvanīšanu uz fiksētajiem tīkliem, sarunu uzskaiti un zvanu uzstādījumiem.

Bell Labs inženieri, izstrādājot AMPS, ieviesa terminu "šūna" (angļu: cellular), jo sistēmas tīkls sastāv no sešstūra šūnām līdzīgām pārklājuma zonām.

AMPS sistēmu darbība ASV pārtraukta 2008. gadā.

Uz AMPS bāzes 1990. gados izstrādāta ciparu mobilā telefona sistēma D-AMPS.
