Vaclovas Čižiūnas

Vaclovas Čižiūnas (1900 m. sausio 13 d. Kulniškiai, Gelvonų valsčius [1] – 1980 m. kovo 10 d. Veinas, Naujojo Džersio valstija) – lietuvių pedagogas, visuomenės veikėjas.

Biografija

1927 m. baigė S. Daukanto mokytojų seminariją, 1938–1939 m. studijavo Vytauto Didžiojo universitete, 1942 m. baigė Vilniaus universitetą.

1917–1939 m. mokytojavo, 1939 m. dėstė Ukmergės mokytojų seminarijoje. 1941–1944 m. dirbo Švietimo ministerijoje, vidurinio mokslo departamento direktorius. 1944 m. pasitraukė į Vokietiją. 1946 m. suorganizavo lietuvių progimnaziją Noimiunsteryje, jos direktorius, vėliau – gimnaziją Klein-Vitenzėje, 1949 m. mokytojavo Pinebergo gimnazijoje.

1925 m. Lietuvių mokytojų profsąjungos Kauno skyriaus pirmininkas, nuo 1927 m. sekretorius, 1933–1939 m. centro valdybos sekretorius. 1950–1954 m. JAV lietuvių mokytojų sąjungos rytų pakraščių centro valdybos vicepirmininkas. Bendradarbiavo lietuvių spaudoje. Parengė vadovėlių pradžios mokykloms.[1]
