Sauserių (Grabšyčių) senosios kapinės, vadinamos Maro kapeliais (valstybės saugoma regioninio reikšmingumo lygmens kultūros vertybė: unikalus kodas - 24229, senas registro kodas - L563) – neveikiančios kapinės rytinėje Kretingos rajono savivaldybės teritorijos dalyje, Sauseriuose (Kūlupėnų seniūnija), 0,6 km į šiaurės rytus nuo Minijos ir Salanto santakos, Salanto kairiajame krante.

Vieta

Įrengtos slėnio terasoje. Netaisyklingo ovalo plano, pailgos šiaurės - pietų kryptimi, 42 m ilgio ir 38 m pločio. Laidojimo žymių nesimato. Paviršius nelygus, įdubęs, žemėja į rytų pusę. Kapines juosia 0,4-1 m aukščio žemių ir akmenų pylimas, kurioje išorinėje pusėje yra 40 cm pločio griovys. Rytų pusėje aptvare paliktas tarpas per 1 m pločio tarpas – buvusių vartų vieta. Palei pylimą ir kapinėse auga medžiai. Prie įėjimo medyje įkelta koplytėlė. Į pietus nuo kapinių stovi gelžbetoninis archeologijos paminklo anotacinio ženklo stovas. Aplinkui yra Sauserių kapinynas.

Koplytėlė

Medinė, stačiakampė, plokščia, vienos kamarėlės, dvišlaičiu stogeliu. Iš priekio įstiklinta, langelį šonuose rėmina profiliuotos puskolonės. Viduje yra Rūpintojėlio skulptūra.

Istorija

Kapinių koplytėlė prie medžio

Kapinės įrengtos XVI a. bendro naudojimo ganyklose. Jose buvo laidojami Grabšyčių kaimo ir Grabšyčių palivarko valstiečiai. Pradėjus mirusiuosius laidoti Kartenos parapijos kapinėse, XIX-XX a. pradžioje čia buvo pakasami savižudžiai, skenduoliai, nekrikštyti mirę kūdikiai. Po Lietuvos žemės reformos kapinės atsidūrė Grabšyčių palivarko valdose įkurto Sauserių kaimo teritorijoje.

Jose nuo seno stovėjo keli aukšti ąžuoliniai kryžiai, o medyje prie įėjimo XX a. pirmoje pusėje tebekapojo koplytėlė. Paskutinysis kryžius buvo pastatytas 1814 m. Vėliau kryžiai ir koplytėlė sunyko. 1990 m. vietos gyventojai padarė naują koplytėlę su Rūpintojėlio skulptūra.

1935 m. kapines kaip kultūros paveldo objektą išaiškino Stropelių pradžios mokyklos vedėjas Stasys Vilkys.[1] 1972 m. jos paskelbtos respublikinės reikšmės archeologijos paminklu (numeris AR513).[2] 1997 m. įrašytos į Lietuvos Respublikos kultūros vertybių registro laidojimo vietų sąrašą (registro kodas L563),[3] 2005 m. pripažintos valstybės saugoma kultūros vertybe.[4]

Tyrimai

1969 m. žvalgė Ignas Jablonskis, 1971 m. – Juozas Mickevičius, 1982 m. – Mokslinė metodinė kultūros paminklų apsaugos taryba (tyrimų vadovas Romas Olišauskas), 1992 m. – Lietuvos kultūros paveldo mokslinio centro archeologai (tyrimų vadovas Vilnius Morkūnas), o 1995 m. – istorikės Loreta Kazlavickienė ir Jadvyga Verksnienė, 2009 m. – Julius Kanarskas.
