Pax Mongolica

„Mongolų taika“ (Pax Mongolica), rečiau vadinama „Totorių taika“ (Pax Tatarica)[1] – terminas, kuriuo vakarų mokslininkai apibūdina socialinio, kultūrinio ir ekonominio gyvenimo stabilumą didžiulėje XIII–XIV a. Mongolų imperijos užkariautoje Eurazijos teritorijoje. Šis terminas apima vieningos administracinės sistemos sukurtas palankesnes susisiekimo ir prekybos sąlygas, taip pat santykinės taikos laikotarpį po mongolų užkariavimų. Šis terminas atsirado kartu su terminu „Romos taika“ (Pax Romana).

Čingischano ir jo įpėdinių užkariavimai veiksmingai sujungė Rytų ir Vakarų pasaulius ir sukūrė vieningai valdomą teritoriją, kuri driekėsi nuo Pietryčių Azijos iki Rytų Europos. Mongolų imperija kontroliavo visą Šilko kelią, jungusį Azijos ir Europos prekybos centrus, ir užtikrino jo saugumą[2]. „Mongolų taikos“ pabaiga laikomas Mongolų imperijos susiskaldymas ir buboninio maro protrūkis Azijoje, prekybos keliais išplitęs beveik po visą pasaulį.
