M85 galaktika

Mesjė 85 (arba M85, NGC 4382) – elipsinė arba lęšinė galaktika, esanti Berenikės Garbanų žvaigždyne. Galaktika nuo Žemės nutolusi už 60 milijonų šviesmečių, objekto regimasis ryškis – 9,2.[1]

Šią galaktiką 1781 m. atrado Pierre Méchain, Charles Messier kolega.[1]

Mesjė 85 priklauso Mergelės galaktikų spiečiui. Ji sąveikauja su dviem kaimyninėmis galaktikomis – spiraline NGC 4394 bei elipsine MCG 3-32-38.[1]

Prieš 4–7 mlrd. metų Mesjė 85 veikiausiai susijungė su kita galaktika. Mesjė 85 galaktikoje esama apytikriai 400 mlrd. žvaigždžių, didžiuma jų – labai senos, tačiau centrinėje galaktikos srityje žvaigždės gan jaunos – jų amžius mažesnis nei 3 mlrd. metų. Manoma, kad jos susiformavo per vėlyvą žvaigždėdaros procesų suintensyvėjimą. Mesjė 85 galaktikos branduolyje gali glūdėti supermasyvi juodoji bedugnė. 2006 m. į šiaurės rytus nuo galaktikos centro buvo užfiksuota supernova.[1]

Teigiama, kad palankiausias metas stebėti šią galaktiką yra gegužės mėnesį. Mesjė 85 galaktika yra ganėtinai blyški, pro žiūronus ar nedidelį teleskopą ją aptikti sunku. Pro 8 colių apertūros teleskopą Mesjė 85 galaktika atrodo kaip blyškus, pailgas šviesos ruožas.[1]
