Juozas Dačys

Juozas Dačys (Dačinskas, 1904 m. rugsėjo 10 d. Asmalai, Kuktiškių valsčius – 1992 m. sausio 26 d. Norvudas, Masačūsetso valstija) – Lietuvos ir JAV statybos inžinierius.

Biografija

1932 m. baigė Vytauto Didžiojo universitetą. 1934–1938 m. Kėdainių miesto ir apskrities inžinierius, 1938 m. Žemės banko Klaipėdos statybos skyriaus vedėjas, 1939–1940 m. bendrovės „Statyba“ direktorius, 1941 m. – valdybos pirmininkas. Suprojektavo ligoninę Kėdainiuose, gyvenamųjų namų, administracinių pastatų, mokyklų, tiltų. Vadovavo „Drobės“ fabriko Kaune, Panevėžio cukraus fabriko ir elevatoriaus statyboms.

Nuo 1949 m. gyveno JAV. 1954–1956 m. studijavo Bostono universitete, 1960 m. Masačūsetso technologijos institute, 1968 m. – Vorčesterio politechnikos institute. 1950–1975 m. bendrovės „Stone and Webster“ Bostone vyr. konstruktorius, 1976–1983 m. bendrovės „Chas T. Main“ statybos inžinierius. Suprojektavo „Rocky Reach“ hidroelektrinę, „Shoreham“ Long Islando, „Maine Yankee“ ir „Connecticut Yankee“ atomines elektrines, šiluminių elektrinių statybines konstrukcijas Floridos, Arizonos, Arkanzaso valstijose ir Irake.

Vyriausiojo Lietuvos išlaisvinimo komiteto, Amerikos lietuvių inžinierių ir architektų bei Amerikos lietuvių tautinės sąjungos veikėjas.[1]
