Ignalinos rajono savivaldybės taryba – Ignalinos rajono savivaldybės atstovaujamoji institucija, išrinkta 1995 m. kovo 25 d.

Teisinis pagrindas

Rinkimai įvyko vadovaujantis 1992 m. spalio 25 d. Konstitucijos nuostatomis, 1994 m. liepos 7 d. naujuoju Vietos savivaldos įstatymu ir nauju 1994 m. liepos 7 d. savivaldybių tarybų rinkimų įstatymu. Be to, 1994 m. liepos 19 d. priimtas Lietuvos Respublikos teritorijos administracinių vienetų ir jų ribų įstatymas.

Lietuvos Respublikos administraciniais vienetais tapo apskritys ir savivaldybės, gyvenamosios vietovės suskirstytos į miesto ir kaimo gyvenamąsias vietoves. Panaikintos savivaldybių pakopos, miesto gyvenamosioms vietovėms priskirti miestai, kaimo gyvenamosioms vietovėms – miesteliai ir kaimai. Savivaldybė sudaroma iš gyvenamųjų vietovių. Jos teritorija gali būti skirstoma į seniūnijų aptarnaujamas teritorijas. Iki 25 sumažintas Ignalinos rajono savivaldybės tarybos narių skaičius, meras tapo ir atstovaujamosios, ir vykdomosios valdžios galva.
