Garso plokštė

PCI garso plokštė Creative Sound Blaster Live!

Garso plokštė – asmeninio kompiuterio techninės įrangos dalis, kuri valdo garso signalų įvedimą ir išvedimą. Atlieka garsų kūrimo, tolydžiojo signalo keitimo skaitmeniniu (pvz., kai garsas į kompiuterį įrašomas iš mikrofono) ir skaitmeninio signalo keitimo tolydžiuoju (pvz., atgaminant garsą) funkcijas.[1]

Dažnai šiuolaikinių kompiuterių garso plokštės integruotos pagrindinėje plokštėje, nes užima mažiau vietos ir ypač tinka nešiojamiesiems kompiuteriams.

Šiandien plėtotės garso plokštės naudoja PCI kompiuterių magistralės standartą. Ankstesnėse garso plokštėse buvo naudojama ISA kompiuterio magistralė, kuri buvo pusiau dvipusė, todėl garso plokštės negalėjo įrašyti ir groti vienu metu.
