Benas Šimkus (1941 m. sausio 1 d. Lieplaukėje, Telšių valsčiuje – 2023 m. sausio 3 d.^[1]) – Lietuvos ir Klaipėdos miesto savivaldybės politinis bei visuomenės veikėjas.

Biografija

1948 m. pradėjo mokytis Mosėdžio vidurinėje mokykloje, kartu dirbo kolūkio lauko brigados darbininku, mechanizatoriumi, elektriku, vairuotoju.

1963 m. Lietuvos TSR vidaus reikalų ministerijos Skuodo rajono Vidaus reikalų skyriaus milicininkas. 1964 m. įstojo į Kauno specialiąją vidurinę milicijos mokyklą, baigęs dirbo Skuodo rajono Vidaus reikalų skyriuje.

1969–2000 m. Klaipėdos miesto Vidaus reikalų skyriuje vadovavo įvairiems padalinimas, patrulių tarnybos būriui, vėliau ėjo vyriausiojo komisaro pavaduotojo pareigas, paskutinės pareigos – Migracijos departamento prie VRM Klaipėdos apskrities Migracijos skyriaus viršininkas. 1982 m. baigė Kauno Antano Sniečkaus politechnikos instituto Klaipėdos fakultetą, inžinierius mechanikas. 1992 m. suteiktas vidaus tarnybos pulkininko laipsnis. Nuo 2000 m. buvo pensininkas.

Liberalų demokratų partijos, partijos Tvarka ir teisingumas (liberalai demokratai) Klaipėdos miesto skyriaus narys. Nuo 2009 m. partijos Naujoji sąjunga (socialliberalai) Klaipėdos miesto skyriaus pirmininkas.

2007–2011 m. Klaipėdos miesto savivaldybės tarybos narys, Klaipėdos miesto savivaldybės mero pavaduotojas.^[2]

1991 m. vaikų sporto klubo „Beisbolas“ steigėjas, prezidentas, tarybos narys.
