Argentinos vėliava (isp. La Bandera de Argentina) 1812 m. sukurta trispalvė, sudaryta iš trijų lygių horizontalių dalių: žydros - baltos - žydros. 1818 m. vėliavos centre pridėtas saulės simbolis. Ornamentinė (be simbolio) ir oficiali vėliava (su saulės simboliu) juridiškai yra lygios, tačiau valstybinių švenčių metu, priimant užsienio svečius ir pan. naudojama oficiali vėliava.

Istorija

1810 m. Gegužės Revoliucijos metu, savo sukurtą vėliavą mūšiuose prie Rosarijaus pradėjo naudoti Argentinos generolas Manuelis Belgranas. 1812 m. rugpjūčio 23 d. vėliava viešai iškelta Buenos Airėse ant Šv. Mykolo (San Nicolás) bažnyčios (dabar čia stovi monumentas valstybinei vėliavai). 1816 m. liepos 9 d. paskelbus nepriklausomybę, buvo pripažinta kaip valstybinė vėliava. 1818 m. pridėtas „Gegužės Saulės“ simbolis. 1978 m. buvo reglamentuoti matmenys ir spalvos.

Birželio 20 d. yra Valstybinės vėliavos diena (M. Belgrano mirties metinių diena).

Matmenys

1978 m. patvirtinti tokie matmenys: ilgis – 1,4 m, plotis – 0,9 m. Horizontalios žydra - balta - žydra juostos (30 cm aukščio). Centre auksinis saulės simbolis „Gegužės Saulė“ (isp. Sol de Mayo).

Saulės simbolis

"Gegužės Saulė" nukopijuota nuo 8 eskudų (pirmiasis Argentinos piniginis vienetas) monetos. 1978 m. patvirtinta auksinio geltonumo (amarillo oro) spalvos saulė, kurios vidinis diametras 10 cm, išorinis 25 cm (5/6 baltos juostos aukščio). Turi 32 spindulius (16 banguotų, 16 tiesių).

Reikšmė

Dangaus spalvos

Argentinos vėliava neturi oficialių spalvų reikšmių, todėl yra kelios jų aiškinimo versijos. Populiariausios:

  • žydra – dangus, balta – debesys,
  • žydra – La Plata, balta – sidabras (Arentinos pavadinimas kilo iš lot. Argentum – „sidabras“).
