보드룸 시가지

보드룸(튀르키예어: Bodrum)은 터키 남서부 물라 주에 있는 도시로, 인구는 118,237명(2009년 기준)이다.

역사

도리스인이 설립한 고대 그리스의 도시 할리카르나소스가 있던 도시이며, 고대 그리스의 역사가인 헤로도토스가 태어난 곳이기도 하다. 세계 7대 불가사의 가운데 하나인 할리카르나소스의 마우솔레움이 있던 곳으로, 사망한 위인을 기념하기 위해 지어진 무덤을 가리키는 영단어 "마우솔레움"(mausoleum)은 여기서 유래된 것이다.
