ბრეტონ-ვუდსის სისტემა

ბრეტონ-ვუდსის სისტემა (ინგლ. Bretton Woods system) — ფულადი ურთიერთობებისა და სავაჭრო ანგარიშგებების საერთაშორისო სისტემა, რომელიც ბრეტონ-ვუდსის კონფერენციაზე მიიღეს 1944 წლის 1-22 ივლისს. სახელწოდება მომდინარეობს აშშ-ის შტატ ნიუ-ჰემპშირის კურორტ ბრეტონ-ვუდსიდან (ინგლ. Bretton Woods). ამ სისტემამ საფუძველი ჩაუყარა ისეთ ორგანიზაციებს, როგორიცაა რეკონსტრუქციისა და განვითარების საერთაშორისო ბანკი (IBRD) და საერთაშორისო სავალუტო ფონდი (IMF). დოლარი გახდა საერთაშორისო ფულის ერთ-ერთი სახეობა, ოქროსთან ერთად. ეს იყო გარდამავალი ეტაპი ოქროს სტანდარტიდან თავისუფალ კონვეტრაციამდე მოთხოვნისა და მიწოდების საფუძველზე.

სისტემის მთავარი შემოქმედი და იდეოლოგი იყო ჯონ მეინარდ კენსი. სისტემის ფარგლებში აშკარად გამოკვეთილი იყო აშშ-ის, როგორც მსოფლიო ეკონომიკის ლიდერის როლი, რადგან მთელი ვალუტების დოლარზე მიბმა მას მრავალ უპირატესობებს აძლევდა.

სისტემამ იარსება XX საუკუნის 70-იან წლებამდე, სანამ თვითონ აშშ არ გამოვიდა სისტემის წინააღმდეგ და უკვე იამაიკის კონფერენციიდან ქვეყნები შეთანხმდნენ საკუთარი ვალუტების მეტნაკლებად ცურვაზე ერთმანეთის მიმართ.
