フロリアーナ・フットボールクラブ（英語: Floriana Football Club）は、マルタのフロリアーナをホームタウンとするサッカークラブ[2]。

歴史

19世紀末に駐留イギリス軍によってマルタにサッカーが伝えられた。フロリアーナFCは1894年に創設された。1890年に創設されたセント・ジョージFC（英語版）に次ぐマルタで2番目に古いサッカークラブである[3]。

1894年から1905年のクラブカラーはシャツが緑と赤、ショーツが黒、ソックスが緑と赤だった。1905年に現在の緑と白の縦縞のシャツと白のショーツ、緑と白の横縞のソックスに変更された。クラブは当時、フロリアーナに駐留していたロイヤル・ダブリン・フュージリアーズ連隊と3回の親善試合を行い、最後の試合後にダブリン・フュージリアーズ職員からクラブカラーを緑と白のシャツに変更することを勧められた。同年、連隊はマルタを離れたが、両者の結びつきは強く、クラブは現在でもThe Irishを意味するTal-Irishの愛称で呼ばれている。クラブエンブレムにはどう猛さを表すライオンと共にスポーツマンシップの美徳を表すラテン語のモットーであるEx Ludis Virtusが表記されている。[4]

1962年、フロリアーナFCはマルタのクラブとして初めて、UEFA主催クラブ大会に出場した。UEFAカップウィナーズカップ 1961-62予選でウーイペシュトFCと対戦した。[5]

ライバルはスリマ・ワンダラーズFCとバレッタFCである。特にスリマ・ワンダラーズとは1920年代と1970年代後半に激しいライバル関係にあり、サポーター同士の衝突は日常茶飯事だった。しかし、その後のフロリアーナFCの長期に渡る低迷により、ライバル関係は薄れている。2010-11シーズンはマルタFAトロフィー優勝を飾り、1993-94シーズン以来となる主要タイトルを獲得した[6]。マルタ・プレミアリーグでも1993-94シーズン以来となる2位に入った。[7]
