この年の大阪タイガースは、職業野球公式戦再開2年目のシーズンである。

概要

1年目こそ3位で終えたチームは開幕から好スタートを切ると、6月以降は2位に10ゲーム差をつけて独走状態に突入。最後は1944年以来、3年ぶり4度目の優勝を果たした。しかしこれが1リーグ制最後の優勝となり、次に優勝するのは1962年まで待たなければならなかった。
