  • 出生名は「秀一郎」であったが、出生当時キャッシュディスペンサーが出回り始めた頃で、キャッシュカードに入るカタカナは名前が長すぎてカードに入りきらない等で、両親が名前が長過ぎたと思い、半ば強引に3歳の時に変更している。高校生まで「千」を通称として名乗っていたが、戸籍変更し現在に至っている（10年以上通称名を使用していれば戸籍上も変更できる）。姓名判断で15画が良いとされ、「小田切」で12画使っているため、残り3画の漢字として中国の小説『千里走単騎』（のちに『単騎、千里を走る。』のタイトルで映画化）から「千」を取ったという[1]。
