地理

いわき市北東部の四倉地区に属する。北で小川町柴原、大久町大久、東で四倉町玉山、四倉町山田小湊、南で四倉町薬王寺、南西で四倉町駒込、西で四倉町上岡、小川町芝原、小川町上小川とそれぞれ隣接する。概ね町村制施行以前の磐城郡八茎村の流れを汲む地域である。二級水系夏井川水系仁井田川上流域を主な範囲とする。南端部は川沿いの平地を中心に水田が広がり、その北側は広大な山林が広がる。内郷御厩町内に所在するいわき中央警察署及び四倉町に所在する平消防署四倉分署がそれぞれ管轄にあたる。
