Hommes は、モデル品質のすべての主要な特徴は2つのグループの元にすべてグループ化されるという Wang ら(1994)を引用した[10]。ここで云う2つのグループとはモデルの正確性と有用性であり、正確性は、モデル化される現象へのモデル対応から、モデリングのシンタックス的ルールへのその対応まで及び、そしてそれはまたモデルが使われる目的と独立である。
それは、実際に作られている問題ドメインについての声明のセットと定義される。ソーシャル・アクタ解釈 (Social Actor Interpretation)とテクニカル・アクタ解釈 (Technical Actor Interpretation)は、人間モデル・ユーザと、モデルと相互作用するツールの両方のアクタが、問題ドメインの概念的表現が含むと『考える』声明のセットである。
