『電気協会雑誌』（224号、昭和15年8月）によると、1940年（昭和15年）5月16日に南大江駅から大同前駅への改称を実施したことになっています。しかし、定説では大同前駅の開業日は同年同月の31日であり、南大江からの改称は開業前の出来事ということになってしまいます。開業前の仮称ということなら筋は通りますが、この雑誌の体裁で駅の新設を伴う場合は通常「新設」とか「開設」といった文字が項目名に含まれ、「停車場名称変更」とだけある場合は既設駅の改称のみを扱います。実際、横に並ぶ奈良電の城南宮前→奈良電竹田は既設駅の改称事例です。
