Walter Wilcox

Walter Meade Wilcox (Pittsburgh, 1º novembre 1872 – Anaheim, 11 agosto 1983) è stato un supercentenario statunitense di 110 anni e 283 giorni. Fu il decano maschile dell'umanità dal 4 marzo 1983, con la morte di James Nash, fino al suo stesso decesso[1].

Biografia

Nacque a Pittsburgh, nella contea di Allegheny, in Pennsylvania; un censimento del 1981 della contea di Orange, in California, lo indicava come in vita: l'uomo, all'epoca, aveva 109 anni.[2]

Divenne l'uomo più longevo vivente al mondo il 4 marzo 1983, alla morte del 111enne statunitense James Nash; morì ad Anaheim, in California, cinque mesi più tardi, l'11 agosto, all'età di 110 anni e 283 giorni.[3]
