I Thermodesulfobacteria Garrity & Holt, 2002 sono un phylum[1] di batteri termofili[2] solforiduttori.
Tassonomia
È stato proposto che i membri della Classe Deltaproteobacteria (che in precedenza si ritenevano non imparentati ai Thermodesulfobacteria) vengano suddivisi in quattro nuovi phyla: Desulfobacterota, Myxococcota, Bdellovibrionota, e SAR324 (nome temporaneo), e che i Thermodesulfobacteria siano inclusi nel nuovo phylum Desulfobacterota insieme a molti altri membri del vecchio taxon Deltaproteobacteria.[3]
La filogenesi seguente è basata sul lavoro di All-Specie Living Tree Project.[4]
