Questo template serve a far apparire le note nella sezione "Note", forzandone la disposizione in colonne di larghezza più stretta del normale. Va utilizzato solo quando è davvero necessario, ovvero quando l'elenco è formato da un numero elevato di note molto brevi. Altrimenti basta inserire il normale comando <references/>, che gestisce automaticamente anche l'incolonnamento.
La larghezza minima di ogni colonna stretta è stabilita dalla classe colonne_strette definita in MediaWiki:Common.css; gli utenti registrati possono personalizzarla ridefinendola nel proprio css utente.
