Strick, pseudonimo di Tauren O'Iander Strickland (Lumberton, 10 gennaio 1986[1]), è un rapper statunitense.

Biografia

Strick è nato a Lumberton, nel North Carolina, ma è cresciuto e ha vissuto ad Atlanta, in Georgia. Si è arruolato nell'aeronautica militare degli Stati Uniti dopo aver studiato alla High Point University e alla Emory University. Nel 2016 ha iniziato a lavorare a stretto contatto con il produttore hip hop TM88.[2] Quell'anno, Strick ha co-scritto quattro brani dell'album collaborativo Rude Awakening di TM88, Wiz Khalifa e Juicy J, Ballin di Juicy J e Coordinate di Travis Scott, quest'ultimo apparso nel suo secondo album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.[2]

Nel 2017 Strick ha pubblicato il singolo 100 Degrees con la partecipazione di Young Thug.[3] Nello stesso anno ha pubblicato il mixtape Risk=Reward. Il mixtape successivo, Risk=Reward 2, è stato pubblicato nel 2018. Nello stesso anno ha collaborato alla canzone STS di Young Thug, contenuta nell'album Slime Language della Young Stoner Life Records.[2] Nell'ottobre 2018 il rapper ha firmato un contratto esclusivo per le etichette YSL Records e 300 Entertainment.[2] Nel gennaio 2019 ha pubblicato l'EP See You When I Land,[4][5] mentre nel giugno dello stesso anno viene pubblicato l'album compilation The Machine, Vol. 1.[6] Nel luglio 2020 ha pubblicato il singolo Yacht Club con Young Thug e Ty Dolla Sign, che è diventato il singolo principale del suo album di debutto, Strick Land (2021).

Nell'estate del 2022, Strick ha accompagnato il musicista statunitense Kid Cudi nel suo To the Moon World Tour come artista di apertura. Nel 2024 l'artista pubblica il suo secondo progetto in studio, intitolato All Time High.[7]
