Shemar James (Mobile, 24 giugno 2004) è un giocatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di linebacker per i Dallas Cowboys della National Football League (NFL).

Carriera universitaria

Al college James giocò a football a Florida dal 2022 al 2024. Nella sua prima stagione dispute tutte le 13 partite, di cui 4 come titolare, con 47 tackle, 2 sack, un fumble forzato e uno recuperato.[1] Nel primo turno della stagione 2023 mise a segno 13 placcaggi contro Utah.[2] Prima della gara della settimana 9 contro Georgia subì un infortunio al ginocchio che pose fine alla sua stagione.[3][4] Chiuse l’annata con 55 placcaggi e un sack in otto presenze.[5] Nella stagione 2024 fece registrar il suo primo intercetto contro i rivali di Miami.[6]

Carriera professionistica

Dallas Cowboys

James fu scelto dai Dallas Cowboys nel corso del quinto giro (152º assoluto) del Draft NFL 2025.[7] Debuttò come professionista nel quarto turno contro i Green Bay Packers facendo registrare 5 placcaggi. Nella settimana 7 mise a segno il suo primo sack contro i Washington Commanders. La sua prima stagione si chiuse con 91 tackle, 1,5 sack e un fumble forzato in 14 presenze, di cui 6 come titolare.
