L'edizione 1955-56 della Segunda División fu il venticinquesimo campionato di calcio spagnolo di seconda divisione. Il campionato vide la partecipazione di 32 squadre. Il torneo fu diviso in 2 gruppi e le prime di ogni gruppo furono promosse in Primera División mentre le ultime due di ogni gruppo parteciparono al torneo per la permanenza in Segunda División. Le seconde e le terze di ogni gruppo presero parte al Gruppo promozione.

  1. ^ Il Moghreb, dopo questa stagione e la fine del protettorato spagnolo in Marocco, si divise in Moghreb Atletico Tetouan, che prese parte al campionato marocchino, e il Ceuta Sport che continuò a partecipare alla Segunda División.
  2. ^ L'España Tanger, dopo questa stagione e la fine del protettorato spagnolo in Marocco, cambiò nome e si fuse con l'Algeciras.
  3. ^ Il CD Condal rinunciò ad essere squadra affiliata al FC Barcellona per poter partecipare alla Primera División.
