L'paracherodonte (gen. Parachoerodon) (Li & Wang, 2026) è un proboscidato estinto, appartenente ai cherolofodontidi. Visse tra il Miocene inferiore e il Miocene medio (circa 16 - 11 milioni di anni fa) e i suoi resti fossili sono stati ritrovati in Europa e Asia.
Classificazione
Due specie di questo genere, Parachoerodon chioticus e P. connexum, furono originariamente assegnate a Choerolophodon e Gomphotherium connexum. Tuttavia, studi recenti hanno dimostrato che questi due taxa sono congenerici con Parachoerodon rhynchus.[1][2]
