Osteolaemus
Osteolaemus è un genere di coccodrilli[1][2] di piccole dimensioni native delle zone umide dell'Africa occidentale e centrale. Sono comunemente noti come coccodrilli nani africani.[1] A differenza di altri coccodrilli, le specie del genere Osteolaemus sono rigorosamente notturni.[2]

I dati molecolari suggeriscono che Osteolaemus tetraspis è costituito da due lignaggi che giustificherebbero il riconoscimento di due specie distinte.[1]
