NGC 3364 è una galassia a spirale (barrata?) situata nella costellazione dell'Orsa Maggiore, a una distanza di circa 135 milioni di anni luce dalla nostra Via Lattea.[1]
Scoperta
La galassia è stata scoperta il 3 aprile 1785 dall'astronomo britannico di origine tedesca William Herschel.[1]
Descrizione
NGC 3364 ha una classe di luminosità III e presenta una larga riga a 21 cm dell'idrogeno neutro.[2]
Gruppo di NGC 3348
NGC 3364 è un membro del Gruppo di NGC 3348, un piccolo gruppo costituito da tre galassie, NGC 3348, NGC 3364 e NGC 3516.[4]
