NGC 3267 è una vasta galassia lenticolare situata nella costellazione della Macchina Pneumatica, a una distanza di circa 194 milioni di anni luce dalla nostra Via Lattea.[1]
Scoperta
La galassia è stata scoperta il 18 aprile 1835 dall'astronomo britannico John Herschel.[1]
Descrizione
Gruppo di NGC 3271
NGC 3267 fa parte del Gruppo di NGC 3271, che è composto da tre galassie. Il terzo membro del gruppo è NGC 3269.[4]
La galassia è un inclusa nell'Ammasso della Macchina Pneumatica, situato a circa 40,7 megaparsec (circa 132,7 milioni di anni luce) di distanza.[5]
